Tuscola, Illinois, native Betty Graham has been spreading the word of the Lord for decades in many different ways. One of her latest endeavors has been her public access television show, "Men and Women in Ministry" on Urbana Public Television (UPTV) in Urbana, Illinois. After growing up in Tuscola, Betty moved to California where she began teaching and ministering at several churches. She eventually returned to central Illinois and began taking nursing classes at Parkland College in Champaign during the mid-1980s. Betty worked for Lakeland College's Visiting Nurses program providing health care to senior citizens. She assisted the New India Bible College and made several trips to India where she was a guest speaker at the College. In 2000, Betty started her own non-profit organization, Strengthening Hands Ministry, which gathered medical supplies and equipment for doctors and missionaries in 29 countries. Throughout her adult life she has always been directed by the Lord to help others. Betty produced "Men and Women in Ministry" for 2 1/2 years on UPTV. She focused on introducing area ministries, sharing Christian testimonies and reaching the unsaved. Understanding Christ's unconditional love is her continual focus. Betty is married with two grown boys and three grandchildren. Her husband, Henry, is a retired school teacher.
